Dicus and Leah

I lived in Queens, New York.
Dave/Dicus lived in Birmingham, England.
We met online in the Pen-Pal section of AOL.
We just wanted to meet people in different locations, we were not looking for Romance.
We sent emails and then started talking on messenger. He taught me how to do things on the computer and helped me get rid of a virus.
I found AncientSites and he joined too.
What fun we had there!
After talking for over year and doing conference calls with my daughter. We decided to meet.
I told him my friends thought I was crazy, "He could be an escaped chainsaw murderer."
He said his friends were concerned about him too. I asked what are they saying?
He said, his friend Edna told him, "she is an American, she will want to hug you when you meet."
I could not stop laughing.

So he came to New York and we had a great 2 weeks. Next I went to England for the summer. It was a dream come true. I always wanted to see England.
I moved to South Mississippi to be with my daughter, and he visited me there. We went to Disney world. It was a great 3 weeks.
We planned on getting married, but it would be in a few years. I would move to England and when he retired we would live in Spain.

We planned the next visit, he would come here and we would go to Tennessee, to see Graceland and stay at the Heartbreak Hotel. Then to the civilwar battlefield in Vicksburg,MS. Then to New Orleans for a few day. Next stop would be Panama City, Fla. To stay at our favorite hotel where we saw dolphins swimming during the day and shooting stars at night.
He was coming Sept. 3rd.

On Aug. 3rd, I waited for him to come online. I waited and waited. I told my daughter something was wrong. I got an email from his friend. "Please call me ASAP. It's about Dave. And I knew........

Dave woke around 1am with chest pains and called the ambulance. They came and worked on him, but they could not revive him. He had an aneurism in his heart, so there was no chance to save him. He was 55.

I couldn't go to England for the service but his friends kept me informed and sent me a copy of the service and all his friends wrote notes and sent them to me.
He was a good and kind man who had a great sense of humor. I miss him.
I could not have imagined, our last kiss goodbye, would have been our last kiss....

I was afraid his website would be going down, so I copied it here to save it. This was our first vacation together.
A Point in Time

I heard you call my name, a smile on my face.
When I turned I couldn't find you.
Promises to hold, our hearts in place.
Now the dreams have crumbled
You'll always be beside me.
Although I can touch you no more.
Till I find my way back home.
